Bristol Folk Festival

Dear Folk Friends

**Bristol Folk Festival Postponed to 2021**

Due to the risk of COVID-19 we are sadly not able to stage Bristol Folk Festival this May. The health of you all is our primary concern through this challenging time and we send you all our best wishes. Given this weekend’s health updates, we will now not transfer to the Autumn.

Instead we will transfer much of the line-up to Fri 30 April to Sunday 2 May 2021 including our Opening Concert with Kate Rusby.

The folk music scene has been hit very hard by the virus. It’s a hand-crafted, home-made sector in many ways, relying heavily on gigs over sales or streams, and the artists and organisers who keep the music alive now face a spring and summer without work.

Your brilliant support keeps the music going. Our small team have worked long hours and invested to schedule and market the festival this year. A few tears fell into (isolated) pint glasses at the loss of sharing so many songs with you all.

If you are able to make the new dates, and would like to support Folk in the city, please hold onto your tickets, this would help us greatly and mean that we don’t all have to start from scratch next year.

We hope you can make the festival next year Fri 30 April – Sun 2 May. In which case if you have Weekend or Kate Rusby tickets, you don’t need to do anything. Your tickets will be valid for the new dates, we have your records & we look forward to seeing you there.

We are currently re-scheduling Kate Rusby for the Opening Concert. This event was almost Sold Out, so please hold onto those tickets, and we’ll share this special occasion together when Spring finally blossoms. We’ll be in touch by email to confirm details shortly.

If you can join us next year, your weekend tickets will be valid, you don’t need to do anything. If not please see below.

We’re asking ticket-holders to consider donating your ticket or part of it. Let us know by emailing tickets@bristolfolkfestival.org and we’ll put your donation into a fund for the artists, and thank you on our site.

If you are not able to attend the new dates and are not in a position to donate, then refunds can of course can be requested. Just email tickets@bristolfolkfestival.org with your request by Friday 10 April. Refunds are given in full minus the 5% booking fees incurred in the transaction (we’ve kept these as low as possible through building our own site this year).

Please bear with us as these all need to be manually administrated, but will be processed over the next two weeks.

Finally a huge thank you for all your support to date. We will miss seeing, smiling and dancing with you all this year.

Make room for music in this challenging time. We need it more than ever!

Take care of yourselves and each other and we hope to see many of you in the Spring.

Team Folk
Anna, Ant & Rich

On this weekend last year, Bristol Folk celebrated the start of May with dancing for the Jack-in-the-Green and @BristolFolkFest.

The celebrations this year have been curtailed but still the May is out. Summer's here now. We dance alone but are together in spirit!

Dear folk friends.

We'd be in the middle of @BristolFolkFest right now. Dancing, singing, laughing, crying.

The festival is moving to next spring. THANK YOU for those who have kept with us. Together we'll keep the folk heart beating. ❤️🎻 🙌
